Monday December 26, 2011

Cold and rainy yesterday, so I slept in and skipped my usual Sunday morning swim at Barton Springs.  This morning I swam at Nitro with David, Steve, Jackie, and Stefan.  Stephen coached.  The pool was set up long course.  Steve filmed some of us using an iPad2 and gave us feedback on our strokes.  Today I worked on pulling more toward the midline and noticed a definite difference.

400 swim, 200 pull
 12 x 50, odds @ 1:00, evens @ :45, held :39s
8 x 100, odds @ 1:50, evens @ 1:30, averaged 1:20-1:22, felt much better than I have the past few weeks
4 x 200 pull @ 3:30, breathing 3/5/7/3, used a pull buoy but no paddles

Returned to the water later in the day to swim a double at Life Time in the indoor 25 meter pool.

10 x 100 @ 1:30, held 1:21s and felt strong enough to swim a few more but was paged back to the hospital
