My usual Sunday morning swim at Barton Springs was rained out, so I was unable to try out my new Xterra wetsuit. I decided to swim at Life Time instead and did 15 x 100 @ 1:30, holding 1:20 (1500 race pace). I was definitely feeling depleted of carbs after fasting on Saturday. In the afternoon I lifted weights with my son. I suppose I should not have been surprised that this morning's workout at Nitro was forgettable. The main set was 2 x (1 x 300 @ 4:00, 1 x 200 @ 3:00, 3 x 100 @ 1:30), no additional rest. I went 3:39 and 3:45 on the 300s, 2:27 and 2:31 on the 200s, and 1:11 on the 100s. Felt pretty sluggish, but my HR was only in the 150s.
