Swam at Nitro with Eryn, Tom, Steve, David, and James. Coach Steve was on deck and wrote the workout.

5 x 100 @ 1:30, averaged 1:15
4 x 100 drill with fins @ 1:30
4 x 75 kick (no fins) @ 1:30
4 x 50 @ :50
4 x 25 @ :20
8 x 75 rolling IM @ 1:15, averaged 1:00
4 x 25 IM order @ :30
4 x 50 IM order @ 1:00
4 x 75 kick IM order @ 1:30
4 x 100 IM drill with fins @ 1:45
5 x 100 IM @ 1:30, held 1:17, my best IM set yet
400 recovery

As a (middle) distance swimmer I don't usually like this much variety, but it was a (nearly) painless way to get in 4000 yards. Next time I would swim the workout without any breaks.

  1. Nice ending on that workout. IM at the end always makes me grumpy. Holding 1:17s is awesome. I was gonna ask about breaks. That is a dandy workout as is but get rid of breaks and it is extra good.
