Hey, we won!

Of course the debate has already begun: Does President Obama really deserve the Nobel Peace Prize after only nine months in office? Sure he does, and more importantly, so do we, because we elected him and by doing so sent a clear message that we wanted the country to move in a different direction. The Nobel Committee recognized what the rest of the world has known for some time--that he, and by extension we the American people, embrace ideals that were not apparent in the foreign policy of the Bush administration. Not to mention the fact that the election of the nation's first African-American president is a measure of just how far we have come in dealing with the prejudices and social injustices of our past.

  1. Right on! On multiple fronts.

  2. I've been following your blog for a few months now, but today felt compelled to sign in and say that I wholeheartedly agree with your commentary on the Nobel Prize.

  3. Ahhhh, it's so refreshing to read your comments after listening to "the other side" for so long! I read a blog entry today from a British blogger ( The Daily Beast) and this quote stuck out. I found it funny.
"Increasingly, British Tories wonder what has happened to their American relatives. It’s as if your favorite cousin had a nervous breakdown, found religion, and became an evangelist for an apocalyptic cult prophesying the imminent end of the world as we know and love it."
Anyway, you present a quite different personality on your blog than on the USMS forums.
    See ya',
