Personal best

Swam my fastest 200 IM in three decades today in practice. We have increased our yardage to 4000 on average, and it is paying off. Had my own lane and swam next to David, Steve, Tom, Eryn, and Jeanne. Clint coached.

400 SKP
6 x 275 @ 4:00, 200 free (averaged 2:24)/75 back
100 IM drill
400 IM pull
100 IM drill
200 IM kick (no fins)
100 IM drill
200 IM for time, went 2:28
200 easy

Next meet will be the weekend of November 21-22, short course meters, either San Antonio or Dallas. The meet in San Antonio is closer and will be a two day format, so I could swim both the 800 and the 400 free as well as the 200 free. Probably my last shot at a top ten time until I age up again in 2013 (and possibly my last chance to wear my Blue Seventy).

  1. It brings me to tears thinking about a life with no tech suits.

Good job on the 200 IM. I'm on a jihad against IM sets, it's all we seem to do these days.

  2. I am still in denial over the tech suit ban. If you have never worn a Blue Seventy (or a Rocket, I have been told) you are missing out on some real performance-enhanced swimming.
